Beauty Tips

It's Facial Time!
Should you be getting facials? Well, many women who’ve had facials report that they get them because it’s a relaxing experience. But, ideally, a facial should be about skin care, not just relaxation. If the relaxing experience is the sole reason you get facials (meaning you don’t see much of a difference in your skin from the experience), then you’re better off getting a full body massage instead. That’s far more relaxing and it doesn’t put your skin at risk. Here is what a great facial can provide over and above a relaxing experience:

Thoroughly cleansed skin.
Softening and removal of blackheads and whiteheads (called milia) via manual extraction.
Temporary improvement of severely dehydrated skin with rich, emollient nourishing masks that begin restoring skin’s natural barrier function.
Plumping skin with a well-formulated moisturizer, which temporarily smooths out wrinkles.
Exfoliating skin with a gentle scrub, a light chemical peel, or a peel-off mask to achieve a smoother surface.
Help to fade brown discolorations, improve skin tone, and significantly reduce wrinkles with a professional-strength AHA or BHA treatment.
In addition to the above-mentioned benefits, a skilled aesthetician will not let you leave without applying a well-formulated sunscreen. The sunscreen should contain only titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as active ingredients to eliminate any risk of irritation, especially given that most women’s skin is more sensitive right after having a facial.

It’s important to keep in mind that what you do daily to take care of your skin is more important than what you do occasionally, but the combination of a great facial and a great skincare routine can have impressive results.

POOL HAIR CARE

Getting your hair ready for Summer!

#1 Get a trim. Just like summer, winter can dry your hair out too. Lets get the dead ends cut off.

#2 Use a daily conditioner. Sun, salt, sand and chlorine can rob your hair of moisture. But, a conditioner will help you keep the moisture in your hair. You can also add a leave-in conditioner to your products, just make sure you ask a professional on which one works for your hair!

#3 Use styling products with a SPF protection. Sun can be damaging, using SPF in styling products can help protect your hair against the sun rays.

#4 Skip the Styling tools. I know not everyone can put down their blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron but if you can skip them one to two days a week will help your hair minimize the heat damage.

#5 Colored Hair. With the weather and everything we do to our hair, you don't want to wash your color out! So if you color your hair, please use a shampoo and conditioner that helps protect your beautiful color!

SUMMER HAIR

PEDICURES

Back in the day, men used to secretly get manicures and pedicures at the nail salon. However, over the years, it suddenly became a thing that only women would get done. The truth is that if you have ingrown, ragged nails and rough cuticles, it does not mean that you are a tad more masculine than the others. It is more important that nails be straightened and cuticles be removed in order to enjoy good health.
Pedicures and manicures make you feel good about yourself, the mini massage that accompanies them makes you feel even better!
Also when you take an hour to get a manicure and pedicure done, you would be able to take your mind off your routine work. This is highly necessary for a healthy heart.
No one likes feet that are stinky. In fact, when you get a pedicure and manicure done, you can get rid of the bacteria and dirt from your feet and hands completely. Your feet and hands would also require exfoliation that you cannot get rid of in a normal wash. Overall it makes your hands and feet look good!
